This page contains three examples of optimized (locally periodic) microstructures.

In all examples, the body occupies a rectangle of size 1.5x1 and is clamped on its left side. See the preprint.

The results here presented were obtained by allowing the two vectors defining the periodicity cell to vary along the optimization process. For comparison, results obtained with a fixed (square) periodicity cell can be found here
