Short Biography
I was born in Lisbon in 1978, graduated in Chemistry in 2003 (FCUL).
In 2006 I obtained my MSc in Applied Analytical Chemistry (FCUL). In 2010 I obtained my PhD in Chemistry (Analytical Chemistry).
Current Research interests
I have been using mass spectrometry to study compounds with environmental and biological interest.
Currently I am interested in the gas-phase behaviour of organometallic complexes and their interactions
with biomolecules, the determination of gas-phase thermochemical properties of substituted phenols and
other biological important molecules (e.g. flavonoids). I am also interested in the application of theoretical
methodologies (semi-empirical and DFT) under the scope of mass spectrometry specific problems (e.g. protonation
site prediction).
